Together with Duca del Cosma, we work (among other things) on conversion rate optimisation. In this case study we highlight one small AB test with giant results.

Conversion Rate Boost
Chaning the design of the products cards boosted the conversion rate with well over 10%.
Visual Guidance
'Boxing' in the products makes it easier to visually compare the product offering.
Easy Comparison
The border around the products makes it easier to compare features across different products.

Control vs. Variant
In the control variant, items on the PDP and PLP had a white background - same as the website itself.
The variant, has a light grey background creating a box around the product and visually connecting the features below to each product
Science-based AB tests
Giving products visual borders is a well researched concept in both Ecommerce and Retail.
Next to adding borders that help to compared products between each other, adjusting the borders to include product features can help boost comparison within products.
